Junior Rowing Camp
Bled, Slovenia
June 20-26, 2024
In the country of Slovenia, in the foothills of the Julian Alps, lies a small resort town set on the beautiful Lake Bled. The lake is a sight to behold: beautiful emerald colored lake with a small island in the middle. You can walk or bike around the lake, swim or kayak, and of course ROW!!!
We will stay in a 4 star hotel situated right on Lake Bled and within walking distance of the boathouse.
Program Overview
The camp officially begins at 3pm on June 20th (hotel check-in time) and ends at 11am on June 26th (hotel check-out time). Each morning (except for Arrival and Departure Day) we’ll have breakfast at the hotel and walk to the boathouse for our morning rowing practice. In addition to our morning, we will have 3 afternoon indoor rowing sessions.
The camp is open to all skill levels, including beginners, who will row in doubles or quads with a coach in a boat. Experienced rowers can row in singles or combine with other participants in bigger boats (sculling or sweeping).
Coaching is provided by iROW’s founder Iva Boteva, and depending on group size and skill levels additional coaches will assist as well. You can expect a 1:4 coach-to-campers ratio.
Our afternoon activities will vary. Slovenia is known for its natural beauty and its pristine nature is a treasure. We will visit some of the places that can’t be missed, such as Bled Castle, Bled Island, and Vintgar’s Gorge.
This once-in-a-lifetime experience is priced at $5,750 ($5,250 for iRow clients/previous tour participants) and includes:
Double occupancy in a 4-star lakefront hotel (Single Supplement $900)
All Meals
8 rowing sessions (2 hours each)
Bled Rowing Center Facility and boat rental fees and all coaching
Sightseeing tours with local guides
Airport transfers and ground transportation
In other words, the trip is priced to include everything in Bled, Slovenia. The only thing you need to purchase is your plane ticket and travel insurance.
The capacity for this camp is 6-12 rowers, ages 14-18. We must have a minimum of 6 rowers signed up by April 1st to proceed with this camp. Non-rowing adult family members can join at a reduced rate. (Contact us for more information). To sign up, please send a $1500 non-refundable security deposit. This reserves your spot on the tour. The remaining amount is due on April 1, 2024.
